We, at church, have been asked to think of a verse for the year. Now, for me, to come up with one, when there are over 300,000 of them. So many of them having such valuable truth, will be too great a challenge.
So what I will do, is try to come up with one a day, post it here each day, or at worst every other day.
My list will be comprised from a mixture of the top 200 verses or passages searched for on google, and the top 100 searched for on biblegateway.com and the 104 memory verses/passages highlighted in a youth/kids bible called 'The Hands On' Bible.
I will write them out from the ESV, followed by a section I will call SIS. SIS is Scripture Interprets Scripture, so is a collection of relating verses from the given verse of the day.
If they are revelant I will include other sections. HIJ, 'Here Is Jesus', OPQ, 'One Person's Quote', and 'PIC', 'Put In Context'.
HIJ, a section to show you where Jesus or Christ is in this verse/passage.
OPQ, if I find a person's quote that is relevant or applicable I will post them here.
PIC, some verses/passages are frequently used to show something that if you were to read the paragraph or chapter it is set in would never back up such a conclusion, I will point that out and show what it means in its context.
